My Sri Lanka Experience

I spent my holiday last month in Sri Lanka. With plenty of adventurous things to do on this amazing island. Apart from traveling I ate a lot of different types of fruits, rode local rides, walked on hot sand, made some new friends, have a close encounter with monkeys and elephants. It was all planed by Antilog Vacations and they surely did some great work. Sri Lanka tour was one of the most unforgettable moments of my life. Let's begin from the start.

My First International Destination

Yes, it was my first international holiday. I have been to many places in India but this time I took one step further. Around 7 pm I reached Indira Gandhi International Airport-New Delhi. I have reached a bit early and I was surprised to see there are everything available at the airport. From KFC to other branded stores like Gucci, Tommy etc. The architecture of Indira Gandhi International airport is mind blowing I fell proud when I get there. From the entry till the runway there was high-class checkpoint which helps and cooperate with the passengers. I love spending time prior to getting on the plane, relaxing my forehead towards the windowpane and looking at aircraft taking off and landing.

A Great welcome to Sri Lanka

I landed at Colombo airport and really greeted well by our tour operators. They really greet us with warm and nice hospitality. Sri Lanka appears like an avocado slice with a yellowish core (I m Talking about mountainous part of Sri Lanka) with green edges. The island has a breadth of 150 miles and a length of 270 miles and is similar to India. However, I discovered it to be a bit comfortable, tidier and somewhat richer. Individuals in Sri Lanka also eat rice with curry as we do in India. Its good to know that although most people speak Tamil yet I met some individuals who speak Hindi.

Hikkaduwa

My next stop was Hikkaduwa and it has amazing pristine beaches with lush greenery all around where ever your eyes can see. Hikka is actually known for its natural coral reefs, of eye-catching colors piece of art world located under the ocean. One of the most prominent factors Why I chose Hikkaduwa to be the initial place to check out in Sri Lanka was the ambiance of amazing nightlife and plenty of water sports activities. What could be superior to having a party in the night time and carrying out adventure activities? Nothing.

So, we kick-start our Sri Lanka trip heading to Hikkaduwa which is just a 3hours drive from Colombo airport. I visited the Tsunami memories in the memories of 35,000 people who lost their lives just in Sri Lanka during the destructive 2004 Tsunami and had an amazing lunch with my other friends at Hikkaduwa and believe me it was the best food I had in entire Sri Lanka tour. Marine turtles protecting center in Sri Lanka is the most picturesque place to get some pics clicked.

Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage

Pinnawala was originally set up in late 1975 to treatment for orphaned elephants. It has the largest and most amazing herd of captive and orphan elephants in the world. Right now there are nearly 100 elephants most of which are descendants of originally orphaned elephants, and there is a separate sealed service cares for recently orphaned calves.

Pinnawala is now maintained through the money it receives from tourism, and also acts as a breeding center for elephants, who are afterward contributed to wats or temples and personal owners. Those anxious about animal welfare and well being should be aware that there are considerations about the therapy procedure of the creatures at Pinnawala. It was really a nice experience. I hand feed elephants and it was something new. I feel like I am close to nature.

Mahaweli reach hotel kandy

Situated beside the awesome Mahaweli River, It combines a sense of enhanced luxury with the ancient elegance of a historical kingdom. Positioned at 482 meters above sea level. This place is also called as the hill capital of Sri Lanka which provides remarkable traditions and heritage all the way to traditional local life. I spend two days here exploring many water sports. It was really a fun place where you can spend an entire day.

Hikka Tranz by Cinnamon

Hikka Tranz by Cinnamon Hikkaduwa treats its guests like no one could. They have plenty of services and facilities, built along the golden sands, pristine water enhances its beauty. This beach destination calls out to all those who want to take pleasure of a beach-life. I got the perfect view of sunrise and sunset from my room. luckily I got the beachfront room. I recommend visiting this beach side cafe because it is worth for every penny you spend. Moreover, the sunset here is exceptionally beautiful, so does the sundown.

Bentota

Leaving behind Kandy, we arrived at the town of Bentota. Everything was completely distinctive down here in Bentota. The salty ocean air was almost everywhere and the beach was just a stone’s throw away. I could notice the ocean as I was getting closer to it. The warm breeze touching my face and ocean water just splashing at my feet is the best feeling of my entire journey which I can't explain in words.

The man behind our flawless tour

My tour manager was a guy named Angelo Bernad. He has full knowledge of all the place we went and seems to be very professional. It is really amazing to listen to some fun facts about Sri Lanka.

Taj Samudra Colombo

Taj Samudra Colombo is situated right in the middle of the Colombo city, looking over the glowing blue waters of the Indian Ocean. This place offers you a wide choice of meals including all-day dining cafe offering Buffet for all time three-course meals. Really enjoyed a lot and click thousands of photos with friends. It was a nice experience with sweet memories. Also it was the last day here in Sri Lanka and then five days later I packed my backpack and get back to the airport.
